The Osheaga Music Festival made its way back to Montreal this year after two years of hiatus due to Covid-19. The three-day Indie music festival was held at Parc Jean- Drapeau in Montreal and oversaw 120,000 fans descending to watch their favorite artists live in action.

There were five stages in this edition of Osheaga, with headlining acts by Dua Lipa, Alan Walker, and Kygo. There were also local artists like Arcade Fire, Men I Trust, and Caribou, among others, who took the stage and made the crowd dance to their rhythm and beats. So let’s look at how Osheaga 2022 panned out this year.

History of the Osheaga Music Festival

The Osheaga Music festival first rocked Montreal in 2006, attracting scores of local crowds who became part of the first edition of the fantastic festival. Osheaga has since emerged as a unique and one-of-a-kind music and arts festival in Montreal, Quebec, with numerous outdoor stages.

Osheaga has been the stage for many local and upcoming artists in the past, as the festival gives them a stage to perform alongside some of the biggest artists globally. The city of Montreal is truly transformed during the festival, as thousands of fans flock to Montreal during summertime from North America and Europe.

Over the course of the festival, hundreds of bands and artists take the stage during the days leading up to the main event.
