Osheaga 2022
The Osheaga Music Festival made its way back to Montreal this year after two years of hiatus due to Covid-19. The three-day Indie music festival was held at Parc Jean- Drapeau in Montreal and oversaw 120,000 fans descending to watch their favorite artists live in action.
The Osheaga 2022 was the 15th edition of the festival, and the organizers didn’t disappoint. The crowd enjoyed the festival and had their hands full with a concoction of electronic music, Hip-hop, and Indie Rock genres. This year included a sensational lineup of artists from around the world.
There were five stages in this edition of Osheaga, with headlining acts by Dua Lipa, Alan Walker, and Kygo. There were also local artists like Arcade Fire, Men I Trust, and Caribou, among others, who took the stage and made the crowd dance to their rhythm and beats. History of the Osheaga Music Festival
The Osheaga Music festival first rocked Montreal in 2006, attracting scores of local crowds who became part of the first edition of the fantastic festival. Osheaga has since emerged as a unique and one-of-a-kind music and arts festival in Montreal, Quebec, with numerous outdoor stages.
Osheaga has been the stage for many local and upcoming artists in the past, as the festival gives them a stage to perform alongside some of the biggest artists globally. The city of Montreal is truly transformed during the festival, as thousands of fans flock to Montreal during summertime from North America and Europe.
Over the course of the festival, hundreds of bands and artists take the stage during the days leading up to the main event. Since the first edition in 2006, Osheaga has made a name for itself as a festival that features names like Skrillex, Jack White, Coldplay, Weezer, Eminem, and a host of other electrifying artists.
The lineup of Osheaga 2022
Besides the mainstream bigwigs like Dua Lipa and Machine Gun Kelly, Osheaga 2022 found a way to feature many other artists to present a multi-genre festival to the crowd.
From the Indie rock sensation Mitski to the Afrobeat icon Burna Boy, the music festival delivered multiple music styles to the crowd within a single space. The festival was a pulsating affair of high-adrenaline music coupled with the beautiful view of the Montreal summer skyline serving as the backdrop to the stage.
When it came to Electronic Dance Music, Norwegian heavyweight DJ Kygo amped up the energy of the festival with his hits like Firestone and Stargazing. The latter had the enchanted crowd singing along while waving their flashlights in unison, a true spectacle worth witnessing.
Dua Lipa returned with the most sizzling performance of the festival and was an apt headliner in Osheaga 2022. She performed her megahits like ‘One Kiss,’ ‘Levitating,’ and ‘Physical’ as the enthralled crowd joined in. She also mesmerized the audience with her nearly choreographed numbers and iconic catwalk on stage.
Earlier on Day Two, Burna Boy turned up the heat with a 15-piece band that had the crowd jumping and singing along. The Afrobeat artist presented the perfect energy on stage that was needed to hype up the crowd and get them banging to his electrifying numbers.
The crowd also got to witness high-flyer Machine Gun Kelly as he performed his top Hits and literally walked by the crowd.

What to Expect at Osheaga 2023?
The Osheaga 2023 edition is due to be hosted from August 4-6 in Montreal, Quebec. Although the lineup is yet to be announced for the event, fans can expect the same level of energy and musical enthusiasm that the festival is well known for.
Staying true to its objective of promoting local artists alongside the leaders in the music industry, Osheaga 2023 promises to deliver yet another spectacle and maintain its repertoire of iconic live performances.
